Iron Cross | COMMON NAME / BOTANICAL NAME An exotic and unusual specimen that is sure to turn heads, the Iron Cross gets is name for its burgundy leaf pattern resembling the German Iron Cross. LIGHT Good light out of the midday sun. East or West facing rooms near the window work amazingly. TEMPERATURE They do not like getting cold. Over the winter try not to let them sit in an area that will get below 15°C. WATER When the top is dry give it a very good soak. They love high humidity, so a pebble tray works well. FOOD Lots of feed all through late spring to mid-autumn every two weeks. Every 5-6 weeks over the winter but dilute it more. TIPS To stop it getting all leggy and gangly pinch out the growing tips (mid-summer) and it will bush out nicely. Dead leaves must be removed as soon as possible from the base. PETS Poisonous to pets. |
